Commercial Songwriting and Production alumnus Veira has just released her newest single ‘Spalmy lęk’ on Sony Poland.
First of all congratulations on the new release! When did you find out that the track was signed to Sony Poland?
I found out randomly literally a week and a half ago that the single I signed to Sony three years ago will be coming out soon because I signed a collaboration with a producers duo “Miyo”.
Tell us a bit about the track
The track is a mixture of pop and tribal Afro sounds which perfectly fits into the modern style, also it connects all the dots in the Polish industry considering the Polish language. It is a track about Burning all the fear, finding the right person. It is a track that instantly makes you feel good.
How have you found the time to work on your own projects whilst working on so many others throughout the year?
I found the right balance between working for other people and creating my own project which will be a massive one because I want to be the first person ever in the music industry that covers all the genres. My plan is to release an EP in several genres which hasn’t been done by anybody in the music industry yet. This is the gap has to be filled finally! I want to show all the producers and all the young up-and-coming artists that they can be whoever they want and they can create their own environment for their own artistry because there is a lot of space for it.
Of course, there is a lot of obstacles that we will face but this is what builds us to be stronger and wiser. To not sound cliché I did feel like I’m missing out on certain bits of me being an artist but at some point I understood that this is my path to help others find their own. At the end of the day we are all in the same industry and we are all going to be working together at some point and as far as I’m concerned, and it’s better to share all the knowledge with each other rather than hide it from one another.
How did your time as a Tileyard student prepare you for the work you’ve done over the last year?
I’m so grateful to be part of the Tileyard Education network and be able to help other people that need it. The most important thing is not to give up because you never know what might happen in this industry… it’s took me around 10 years of a hustle to get to that point and three years of waiting for the opportunity to be
the “main artist”. It’s unpredictable but in a good way…it lifts you up and make you feel like you can reach the sky In the least expected moment.
What can we expect next from you?
Next up as I said I’ve got prepared several EP’s every single one in different genre with singles showing that we do not have to close our minds to just one, we can be whoever we want it’s just about our mentality and how we approach things.
