Chloe Dunphy, or Chloë Rona as you may know her, has been taking the UK fashion and music scene by storm for quite some time. Since joining the MA Commercial Songwriting and Production programme at Tileyard Education in October 2017, her time at Tileyard is rewarding her in ways she couldn’t have foreseen.
Since joining the programme, Chloë has been collaborating with other other artists, as well as building close relationships with 3 MA Music Industry Students, who have taken Chloë’s music on as a project, nurturing her, and offering advice and support with all her latest releases. One student, Jonathan Farmer (an artist in his own right), also assisted Chloë in achieving her membership to AWAL, a support network for independent artists.
Chloë is a go-getter, and her determination to succeed with her music is transparent, as she has remained active with releases during her year of study. One of her latest releases, ‘Cruel Intentions’ captured a lot of media attention and has been reviewed by HartMedia, Madeleine Mae, Fortitude Magazine and ColoRising.
But one of the most rewarding relationships occurred later in the year when Chloë flew out to Stockholm for a writing camp was with Swedish Producer Mariella Bambi Garcia Balandina, or ‘Bambi’, as she is known. Chloë took part in the Songwriting Camp in Stockholm during June of this year. Her, and 4 more Tileyard Education students spent 4 days writing at AP Academy. During the camp, the writers were divided into groups drawing upon their strengths and were encouraged to write music to Swedish commercial briefs, and this is how Bambi met Chloë. They’ve been working on tracks together since their meeting, and Chloë is planning to return to Stockholm in the next few months to go back to the studios to write and work with Bambi some more. Bambi is currently working with urban pop artists, 2 acts from L.A and a Swedish singer. We caught up with Bambi and asked what it was like working with Chloë ;
“It was dope as heck working with Chloë. Her flow is sick ‘n nothing but good vibes. I’d love to continue working with her. I’m planning a trip to London to make more dopeness with her & her team.
But seriously though, she is pretty cool and I’m really looking forward to see what she does in the future.”
Chloë has even sent one of the tracks they’d both been working on together to Michael Harwood, Tileyard Music’s Founder, who is also Chloë ’s Term 3 music industry mentor, who is really excited by the track.
As well as keeping busy making music, Chloë is also a trained dancer and performer and is set to take part in the new PlanB video, set for release very soon, stinger below has been taken off of Chloë’s Instagram.
Chloë ’s music is a medium for her to express and communicate her ideas to the world, turning life experiences into songs. With her London background, her lyrics contain a rawness which is harmonised against her soothing voice. Chloë’s ability to keep pushing boundaries and crossing genres is one of her strengths as an artist, and we cannot wait to see where her career takes off after her graduation. Chloë’s next single, ‘High’ has been produced by another Tileyard producer, Joe Bailey, and is set to release in mid-August.
