We recently caught up with MA Commercial Songwriting and Production alumni, Adam Wedd. He has some exciting news to share with us as we recently secured a new job at Abbey Road Studios.
Hey Adam, heard you’ve started at Abbey Road Studios. What’s the role?
The role is general assistant.
That’s exciting, how did you hear about it?
My friend Rebecca Lauren recommended me for it.
How did the interview process go?
We had a lovely chat over a glass of wine.
If only all interviews were like that! What are you looking forward to most?
I’m looking forward to channeling the spirit of the Beatles into every cup of coffee I make!
Are there any exciting projects you’re currently working on (either for this role or yourself)?
For this role, it’s just an honour to work with such wonderful people in a building that holds so much history and means so much to so many of us. I’m producing a bunch of stuff for other artists and I have my own new single out on October 1st, followed by a nearly sold out headline show in London 14th October at the Old Queens Head, Islington. I am also currently working on a series of pop-up gigs on a London Canal Boat called ‘Brigadoon Pop Up Gigs’ where i have become ‘Musical Director’.
As a Tileyard alumni is there anything you learnt from your time at TY that helped prepare you for this role?
Tileyard has taught me about the importance of routine, hardwork and consistent grafting. It also made me realise how we have to de-romanticise the arts industry, whilst still learning how to really engage and connect with people in their core humanity.
Be sure to check out Adam’s new track ‘Home N Away’ coming out on the 1st of October.
