MA Commercial Music Producer graduate, Prins Fimmers sat down with Arturia’s one and only Bryan Borcherds, to discover his journey and how he got to where he is today. Earlier in the year Prins was awarded support from Bryan with Arturia’s bursary, catch-up on that story here.
PF: How did your musical story start?
BB: I guess it was when myself and two of my school friends decided that we would be the next Nirvana. We’re still trying.
PF: When did u start working with Arturia and why?
It’s coming up to five years already. I’d known the team from Arturia for many years, and when they released the MatrixBrute synth I knew it was time to get involved. Any company that brings out a synth that amazing gets me excited.
PF: Who’s inspired you the most over the years?
BB: Anything that’s been released by Tileyard Music 🙂
PF: In your day to day at Arturia, what do you enjoy the most?
BB: Talking to people. I love hanging out with producers, songwriters, creatives. That’s the inspiring part.
PF: If you were able to give your younger self some advice, what would u say?
BB: Drink less coffee.
PF: What are you excited for in the future at Arturia or do you have any exciting projects you are working on?
BB: There are always new product ideas floating around. Definitely some exciting things coming out.
PF: What is your favourite Arturia product and why?
BB: I’m using the V Collection software instrument bundle a lot at the moment, it blows my mind each time how good it is. My favourite is probably PolyBrute or DrumBrute Impact, they are really fun to play.
