Yasmin Jane sits in our alumni hall of fame, her music career keeps going from strength to strength.
Being part of our first-ever cohort, Yasmin has always had drive, with a strong flair for catchy, pop lyric writing, and the vocals to match. She has been making quite a noise on London’s music scene.
In 2019, Yasmin signed 2 songs to Ninja Tune and 3 songs to Electric Pineapple. She has been in countless writing and recording sessions over the past 2 years and has recently just gotten back from Oslo, where she’s been in writing sessions.
Most recently, Yasmin landed a sync through Ninja Tune with the Netflix series ‘Love Is Blind’. Yasmin’s original song ‘Broken Glass’ was featured on the show. Yasmin shared with us:
“I wasn’t even sure about giving this song away, this song is so personal to me. I wrote it with me, myself and a piano […] I woke up to a text from my friend Carry saying my song was on Netflix, I had no idea what she was talking about, so turned on the TV, and there it was, it was so surreal”
“It was a nice little surprise!”
The series is trending #2 in Netflix’s Top 10 charts right now, and Yasmin is already set for a big 2020. She told us she’s got lots of exciting collaborations set to be released in the coming months, as well as her first solo show at legendary music venue, The Hope And Anchor, Islington. The show is close to sold out, so if you want to check out Yasmin on the stage (which we highly recommend), grab your tickets here!
