We have teamed up with Autonomy Music Group (a renowned music management company), to offer one of our students the chance to have a place on the Autonomy Mentorship Scheme.
As part of the mentorship scheme, the chosen student will have 12 scheduled meetings over the course of the academic year. In these meetings, the selected individual will have the opportunity to discuss their career goals, as well as receive advice and career guidance from the industry experienced team.
The scheme originally began in an informal way, offering students a brief introduction to the industry through some work experience at Autonomy. Over time, this has grown, and has become a year on year occurrence. Founding partner, Richard Engler, told us that “Since starting the scheme, we have now taken on eight full time members of staff who’ve come out of Tileyard Education”.
Many of these graduates have become managers within two years of graduating and joining the Group.
An integral part of the process is the relationships built through the scheme. This gives the chance for students on the scheme, to have the chance to get to know the team at Autonomy, and vice versa.

Autonomy Music Group is a record label that also provides management and artist services. Autonomy’s services include providing personalised and individual guidance for each client. Autonomy Music Group works with a wide range of artists and industry professionals. Previous artists they have worked with include: Catfish and the Bottlemen, Bears Den, Joe McElderry, Diana Vickers, Ben Howard, and Kate Nash.
The team is made up of nine industry experienced and specialised individuals, based at Tileyard. Autonomy has also given some lectures at Tileyard Education, providing students with first-hand knowledge and guidance.

The chosen student is selected based on a number of traits, including:
- Your course application to us at Tileyard
- Your potential within the music industry – whether as a musician or as a producer
