Every month in partnership with Tileyard London, we host our special Gallery Sessions at the Tileyard Gallery.
Our Gallery Sessions are a fantastic way for people to network and meet others, as well as have some stage time in the heart of London.
What are the Gallery Sessions?
In its simplest form, our Gallery Sessions are an open mic night in London. Some may call it an open mic night with a special twist. But what makes our Gallery Session stand out from any other open mic night is that artists and performers alike are given the chance to sign two songs (of any genre), and connect with the audience.
Every act gets the chance to talk to the crowd, tell the crowd about themselves, or just explain how much their written song means to them.
The beauty of our secret sessions is that it is open to the wider community – not just Tileyard Education students. Every month we see students and alumni alike, alongside prospective students and members of the wider community – whether from in or around London.
How Does it Work?
We operate on a first come first served basis, with people usually arriving just before 6pm (which is the sign up time). We usually get between 18 to 25 artists every time, all having the chance to perform two songs.
Anyone is welcome. Unlike some open mic nights, we see a whole range of genres and acts. From solo to bands, to duos and instrumentalists. On top of this, every act is different and it’s hard to pinpoint the main genre. We see everything from grime or folk artists, to pop or soul artists.
It is very much an authentic and stripped back vibe.

The Beauty of Our Gallery Sessions
One of the main takeaways from many of our acts and artists is that you feel a part of the Tileyard community. Plus, with the event taking place within Tileyard, it is important to note that we host a lot of businesses on campus. This includes the likes of Soundcloud and Talentbanq.
This means that people have the chance to network with industry experts, as well as the occasional chance of being talent scouted.
How Can I Hear About the Next Gallery Session?
You can keep up to date with all of our events, and our Gallery Sessions, through our YouTube and Instagram channels, as well as our Eventbrite.
