In this episode of MMM, Lucy and Suzanna discuss disagreement, and how it doesn’t always have to lead to disconnection.
There is an inherent pattern that stems from our socialisation and experiences that can lead us down a hasty path of disconnection when we do not agree with another’s opinion. This can be elevated for creatives working together on shared projects, and can lead us into a ‘fight or flight response’.
Suzanna discusses strategies for ‘making space’ for other people within the context of a disagreement, which leads to acceptance and growth within us. This is a great episode to understand how to accept others, without defining them by our own moral judgement, that is often unconscious.
Disconnection is a powerful topic right now, as we continue to try and create normal space for ourselves during the covid-19 pandemic, the elevation of feelings and the inability to have the freedom to see loved ones means we are more vulnerable than usual. Use this episode as a tool for understanding, and growth.
