MA Songwriting and Production student, and singer-songwriter, Emily Craig’s new single ‘I Think I Like You’ drops today and it is radiant.
Emily is known for her smooth honeyed vocals with quirky and honest lyrics. She is a refined storyteller, she paints playful images to a soundscape of dreamy melodies and bossa rhythms with her undeniably pure, yet powerful, voice.
Emily wrote the song while living in Spain. The song is a feel-good reflection on a summer romance, a perfect summer anthem.
Emily’s love of music, writing and languages influenced her to craft a repertoire of original material in three languages while she was living in France and Spain. She was inspired by stories of the people she met whilst busking on the streets of Granada, weekly jazz fusion jams in Lyon and living in a house of nineteen students from all over the world. She subsequently recorded some of these songs as demos at producer Youth’s Space Mountain Studio in Sierra Nevada. Since returning to the UK, Emily has brought her music to some of the capital’s acclaimed intimate venues including The Water Rats, Folklore, Paper Dress Vintage and Camden’s Spiritual Bar. Performing on both piano and guitar, Emily has already gained a loyal following.
She has also recently attracted the attention of BBC Introducing with her debut live single ‘How Are You?’ which has received airplay on radio stations across the south including BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Solent. Emily’s first studio release, ‘I Think I Like You’ was premiered by BBC Radio Berkshire’s Linda Serck on Saturday 25th July, described as a ‘lovely, summery breezy song’.
