One man who has been busy over lockdown is Richard Strange. As well as being our module leader for MA Commercial Music Producer, he has an extensive and highly accomplished career as a musician, composer, actor, curator, writer and educator.
If you haven’t read Richard’s extraordinary memoir Strange – Punks and Drunks and Flicks and Kicks, you’re missing out. Fortunately, this slice of rock history is now being released as an audiobook for the first time, voiced by the man himself and without the restraints of an editor. What a life he has led!
You may have heard some of these stories, like the time he was robbed by the Sex Pistols or asked John Lennon for a favour, on the 2-hour radio show and podcast, Dark Times Radio, he has been curating. We’re on Episode 40, you can play catch-up here.

What started as a low-key affair has manifested into Walk of Shame, an all-star collaboration with Doctors of Madness, with Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and The Glare’s Lilybud on backing vocals, PJ Harvey/Tindersticks sax-man Terry Edwards, produced by John Leckie (Muse, Radiohead/Stone Roses) and remixed by our very own principal Martyn Ware of Human League and Heaven 17, taken from their critically-acclaimed album Dark Times (Molecular Scream/Cargo Records).
