Christof along with Bridge, William Baxter, Ruby Sewell and Jaqui Siu who all attended the International Writing Camp in Marrakech, came together and wrote the selected track for Love Island as their first song of the week.
As the creativity was flowing during the International Writing Camp in Marrakech, their inspiration for this track came as Bridge and Will hit the ground running in terms of the beat and production. The beat was so well done that they discussed the need for a catchy hook to really grab the audience. The first line “Gyal come and wine up your waist like Shakira” formed as they imaged how Sean Da Paul would sing it.
Christof described his experience during the International Writing Camp as:
“A humbling moment, it was also this moment I realized this is exactly what I want to do, develop my artistry, refine my songwriting and production skills, and envelope myself in the craft”
On finding out “Like Shakira” was placed in the Sony Music catalogue and was being synched to “Love Island USA” gave these artists the confidence boost that they needed. Christof’s entire experience throughout the camp allowed him to explore the possibility of studying at Tileyard Education.
