Over 8 immersive weeks, this hands-on course takes you inside the world of K-Pop songwriting and production, where you don’t just learn – you create.

Each class combines expert-led teaching with a live songwriting challenge, pushing you to craft verses and choruses to real beats, record them, and receive professional feedback. From dissecting global K-Pop hits and mastering melody, hooks, and bilingual lyric writing, to understanding Korean studio etiquette, industry workflows, and collaboration in our own K-pop songwriting camps, you’ll build both creative and cultural fluency.

By the end, you’ll have sharpened your skills, grown your portfolio, and be equipped with the confidence and know-how to pitch songs to the global K-Pop market—with the option to take your work straight to Korea and connect with industry teams. 

This course is delivered in three different options for you to choose:

Classes and London/online camp – £999

  • Bolt on songwriting camp with producers/writers who have written hits here. In response to a live commercial brief

Classes, Online camp and week long trip to Korea – £2199

  • 14 Sept – 19 Oct + 26 Oct + 3 – 7 Nov 2026
  • Full 8-week programme.
  • Includes Korea immersion week

  • Participants arrange and pay for their own flights.

Weekly breakdown

Week 1 – The Global K-Pop Ecosystem & Tileyard Advantage 

Led by Liam Geddes. Liam Geddes is a #1 Billboard and Platinum Certified Songwriter and Producer. Liam’s worked extensively with K-pop and his work has also been featured in movies, television shows, and commercials around the world working with the likes of Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, FOX TV, The Cw Network, Nickelodeon among others.

  • Anatomy of a K-Pop hit (song structures, hybrid genres, cultural storytelling)
  • Breakdown of hits
  • Case studies 
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus on a given beat; recorded and pitched for feedback

Week 2 – Melody Engineering & Hook Crafting

  • Topline techniques, vocal phrasing, melodic contour
  • Ear-catching hooks & chorus construction by  
  • Weekly 15 minute case study
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus, recorded for feedback

Week 3 – Lyric Writing & Storytelling

  • Cross-cultural lyric writing, fan engagement strategies
  • Bilingual lyric techniques  
  • Weekly 15 minute case study
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus, recorded for feedback

Week 4 – K-Pop Industry, Culture, Etiquette & Workflow 

  • Cultural norms in Korea: bowing, studio manners, hierarchy, and respect in the writing room
  • Practical studio etiquette: removing shoes, arriving prepared, being ready to record immediately
  • Workflows & professional systems: song registration, collection, publishing differences between UK and Korea
  • Cultural mindset: how speed, focus, and professionalism are emphasised; how to navigate language and communication differences
  • Only go out there when you’re ready 
    • Writing for K-pop and the things to look out for
    • Deal terms
    • WHEN and then HOW to reach out to A&Rs
  • Weekly 15 minute case study
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus, recorded for feedback

Week 5 – Beat-Making & Production Foundations

  • K-Pop rhythmic patterns, hybrid genres, aligning melody to beat
  • Weekly 15 minute case study
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus, recorded for feedback

Week 6 – Vocal Production & Arrangement

  • Layering, harmonies, ad-libs, vocal arrangement
  • Weekly 15 minute case study
  • Applied songwriting: Verse + chorus, recorded for feedback

Week 7 – Collaboration & Writing Rooms (1 day – all online)

  • Create your own kpop song with the pros
  • Live commercial songwriting brief 
  • Pro-producers – create tracks 
  • Pro-songwriters – vocal 
  • Writing camp practice, team collaboration, peer feedback
  • Pitched to Kpop agencies in Korea 

Week 8 – Fly out to Korea – Meet the teams out there

Optional extra – fly out to Korea, meet the studio owners and teams out there for the fully immersive experience
