Queen Vinyl Scratch Winner
On Tuesday night Two Tribes was rocked by the memory and sounds of the one and only Freddie Mercury. 27 years after his passing, Tileyard Education’s Vinyl scratch hosted a Queen-inspired night, filled with the biggest and best Freddie impersonator, Bruce Game, and the wonderful Peter Hince, Freddie Mercury’s longtime roadie.
The audience was treated to Peter’s exclusive behind the scenes look at the life and journey of one of history’s most famous rock star. Even one of Freddie’s microphones made an appearance at Two Tribes.
Bruce Game brought everyone to their feet with his wonderful rendition of ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ and ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’.
It was another successful open mic night, with singer/songwriter Giuseppe Basco winning the Vinyl Scratch and walking home with a signed copy of Peter Hince’s book, ‘Queen Unseen’. Second place went to Irene Hayworth!
Giuseppe Basco, whose artist name is Giubey, is a twenty-two-year-old singer/songwriter based in London. He’s had a passion for music since a young age and has competed on competitions such as X-Factor Italy and ‘Premio Mia Martini’.
Through studying at BIMM he heard about Vinyl Scratch, which he describes as “an amazing experience”.
Giuseppe has been working on his first EP called “Who I Am” and “had the chance to record [his] original songs at Abbey Road Studios.
His first single, ‘Branches’, will be released on Spotify 20th November 2018!
